I’ve been a business owner for several years and thankfully it helped launch me into the right direction for this business. BUT is this really what I want to do? I’ve been in project management most of my life and do I want to be in this industry? I reached out to a friend, Melissa Ryks-Schock, who owns a business within this industry and asked how can I help. I will do whatever you need, whenever you need it. The opportunity she provided led me to take the leap. I am so grateful, so grateful.

The decision is made, so now what? Research, research, research. I had so much information in my head, it was time to start funneling it into the right places to get this business started. What am I going to call this company? I brainstormed and brainstormed and nothing got me excited. I enlisted my creative daughter, Sami, to come up with ideas. She kicked out dozens of names within 24 hours and Indigo stuck. Hmm, I like it but what does it mean? Yes I know it’s a color but why am I drawn to it. I found several references online to the devotion of helping others and to be highly functional structure is important. Yep that’s me and Indigo Wedding and Events was born!

The next step is my image. What represents me, tells a great story and showcases my work? I partnered with Paul Burner on the creation of my website. What that man can do in a short period of time is nothing short of phenomenal!

Do know the last professional photo I had taken? Somewhere between 8-10 years ago… I was thrilled that Hayley Christiansen had availability to come and take some amazing photos. She has amazing talent and her style was exactly what I was looking for.

When you think about all the pieces that have to come together to launch a business it can be overwhelming, much like event planning, you find the right people and put the right pieces in order to get an amazing result! I’m sure there will be a lot of tweaking as we go but for now, little by little, letter by letter, online search after online search, checklist after checklist, I’m ready to go! Let’s pop the cork and get this party started!
